On the 6th March, we teamed up with the ‘whimsical, wild and off-beat’ world of Hackney florists Grace & Thorn for one, very special evening. We presented a five-course tasting menu that highlighted the importance of sustainability within our food system. The intricate flavours of the season were enjoyed amidst the aromatic and unique surrounds of a working florists. Our guests dined in a bee’s element, encompassed by the life-force of our food-growing industry – pollen itself.

This decadent evening of fine food was meticulously prepared by our top London chef, Joe Fox – former Senior Sous Chef at Hix Soho and now working alongside Head Chef Damian Clisby at the acclaimed restaurant of Petersham Nurseries. Each dish highlighted the very best of the season, with ingredients coming from sustainable, bee-friendly sources. Sutton Community Farm x Streatham Food Festival

One of the Bee Kind & Dine team’s first events was a sustainable dinner with Sutton Community Farm, held as part of Streatham Food Festival 2014. A three-course meal using the farm’s organic, seasonal and London-grown produce was held after a homemade elderflower champagne reception. This intimate dinner, for just 30 lucky guests, quickly sold out and it was the success of it that spurned Laura Jean and Joe to create and found Bee Kind & Dine as a platform to continue events that raise awareness around the problems within our current food system.
